Manoel Carlos Toledo Filho was born in Campinas, state of São Paulo. He has been a Labour Judge in the Regional Labour Court of 15th Region for 26 years, where he was promoted to the position of Regional Labour Judge in 2009. He was appointed Deputy Director of the Judicial School in the 2014-2016 administration. In the current administration (2016-2018) he is the Director of the Judicial School.

He holds a bachelor's degree, a master's degree and a doctorate in law from the University of São Paulo, focusing his studies in the Labour Law.

His main area of expertise is compared labour law and compared procedural labour law, especially in the South American context, actively participating in various regional, national and international events. He was the first Brazilian admitted as a member of the Asociación Argentina de Derecho del Trabajo y de la Seguridad Social (AADTSS), and the first foreigner admitted as a member of the Asociación Uruguaya de Derecho del Trabajo y de la Seguridad Social (AUDTSS).

He has published several papers in Brazil and abroad, and his most recent book, written jointly, was released in 2017 by the publishing company LTr, “Comentários ao Novo CPC e sua aplicação ao processo do trabalho – Volume II”.
